Local history room of the Schöna local history association

Museum/art collection
Umgebindehaus with Heimatstube in Schöna, shows the life of stone crushers and Elbe boatmen - authentic, compact and without admission.

The local history museum is located in a historic 19th century half-timbered house in Hauptstraße 30a/30b and impressively conveys the everyday life and work of past generations in Schöna and Reinhardtsdorf.

On the first floor, the living conditions of a quarryman's family from around the 1920s are on display, including original household appliances and cooking utensils.

In the upper rooms, visitors can learn interesting facts about the formation of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, historical quarry work, shipping on the Elbe and local mills - supplemented by models and historical exhibits.

The half-hour tour is free of charge and is also available at any time outside of regular opening hours by appointment.
