Winter Wellbeing

Wellness is simply the best when it is freezing cold outside. Sauna sessions and massages bring tingling life back into cold toes and fingers after long winter hikes. The most beautiful wellness spots in Saxon Switzerland each have a house specialty ready for this: In the Kräutervitalbad, you can enjoy a "Wenik" sauna in the Russian style with vodka and birch twigs. The Toskana Therme in Bad Schandau focuses on the weightless Liquid Sound experience in thermal brine water, while the Bio- und Nationalparkrefugium Schmilka focuses on bathing in beer. Here is an overview for a deeply relaxed end to a winter hiking day in Saxon Switzerland:

Bergwirtschaft Kuhstall

Warm waffles with cherries

Hot waffles with cherries, cream and a cup of hot chocolate: Who could resist this temptation? The freshly baked waffles are the winter culinary highlight at the Kuhstall mountain inn, located by the rock arch of the same name above the Kirnitzschtal valley. A nostalgic experience is the journey on the Kirnitzschtalbahn tram from Bad Schandau to the »Lichtenhainer Wasserfall« stop. From here, the Kuhstall can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes.
