Conveniently into the hiking adventure
From March to October, the RVSOE, in addition to the regular service, offers a variety of hiking buses to the most beautiful hiking areas of Saxon Switzerland, the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Eastern Ore Mountain foothills, and the Bohemian Switzerland.
The Tisá Line 217 - (Pirna - Bad Gottleuba-) Bahratal border crossing - Tisá - Snezník - Rosenthal, walking path to Schneeberg (-Königstein) and back. In conjunction with the bus lines +219 and 216 coming from Pirna and bus line 242 from Königstein, this hiking and bike bus line offers you a great ride over the heights of Bohemia. It operates on all weekends and public holidays during the summer season.
The departure times of the bus lines are coordinated with the arrivals/departures of the S-Bahn S1 /S2 at Pirna station both for the outward and return trips.
Cross-border and without transfers, the buses take you into the Gottleuba Valley, to Tisá at the Tyssaer Wände, to Jílove Sněžník at Hoher Schneeberg, through the Bielatal to Königstein and back again.
From Pirna - Bastei - Rathewalde - Hohnstein - Sebnitz and back. From Pirna or Sebnitz, the buses of the "Bastei Line" 237 take you daily to the Bastei, the landmark of Saxon Switzerland.
By the way: Every summer weekend and holiday, the Bastei is also accessible with the new Wehlen Line 239, significantly shortening the route from the last stop before Bastei in Stadt Wehlen.
Bus line 239: Stadt Wehlen - Uttewalde - Bastei and back
The Wehlen Line 239 connects the small village of Wehlen with the Bastei on weekends and public holidays during the summer season. Its journeys start and end as bus line 237 in Pirna.
The Kirnitzschtal Line 241 - Pirna - Königstein - Bad Schandau - Kirnitzschtal - Hinterhermsdorf and back.
With the hiking buses of the Kirnitzschtal Line 241, you can travel directly into the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The line operates from Pirna over the heights near Struppen, past the Königstein Fortress to Bad Schandau, and continues into the wild and romantic Kirnitzschtal – the gateway to the national park. The final station is Hinterhermsdorf, the first national park community of Saxon Switzerland, at the Erbgericht. The village itself is known for its typical Umgebinde houses.
Bus route 243: Bad Schandau - Krippen - Kleinhennersdorf - Papstdorf - Cunnersdorf
Bus route 244: Bad Schandau - Königstein - Kurort Gohrisch - Cunnersdorf
The hiking buses of routes 243 and 244 take you to the table mountains on the left side of the Elbe. The Große Zschirnstein, at 561 meters, is the highest point of the Saxon Switzerland.
Bus route 252: Schmilka - (Ostrau) - Bad Schandau - Krippen - Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna and back
The hiking bus line 252 on the left side of the Elbe leads to the Zirkelstein and the Kaiserkrone. On the right side of the Elbe, you can reach the famous Schrammsteine as well as Schmilka.
From Schmilka, you can plan hikes to the Großer Winterberg or even cross the border to the Pravčická brána.
Bus line 253: Bad Schandau – Prossen – Waltersdorf – Lilienstein
Situated in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Lilienstein, as the only sandstone table mountain on the right side of the Elbe River, dominates the landscape with its distinctive silhouette. Its characteristic shape is also part of the logo of our national park.
Bus line 254: Bad Schandau - Hohnstein (- Heeselicht) - Bastei - Pirna and back
The buses of Hohnstein line 254 connect the spa town of Bad Schandau with the castle town of Hohnstein. On weekends and public holidays, the line continues directly to the Bastei and sometimes even to Pirna. Via the route through Heeselicht, you can also reach the Polenz Valley with its famous snowflake flower meadows.

High above the Kirnitzsch Valley lie the villages of Altendorf, Mittelndorf, Lichtenhain, Ottendorf, and Saupsdorf, offering expansive views over the bizarre rocky landscape of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Since 2002, the so-called Panorama Trail leads on an idyllic hike along the heights here.
PlusBus Line 261: Sebnitz - Neustadt - Stolpen - Dresden and back
Line 261 connects the artificial flower town of Sebnitz, Neustadt in Saxony, and the castle town of Stolpen with downtown Dresden in a short, direct manner. The route passes through the villa district on the Weißer Hirsch, skims the Dresden Neustadt, crosses the Elbe with impressive views of the old town, and ends directly at the main station—ideal for onward travel.
