Schoena Castle is an old manor house with a castle-like character, built around 1860, entwined with ivy and wild grapes. Located directly on the romantic Painter's Trail, it offers a fantastic view of the Elbe and an unobstructed sight of the opposite Schrammstein rocks.
Ideal starting point for numerous tours in all directions. The Schmilka ferry, bus line 252 Bad Schandau, and the train station with connections to Dresden and Prague are only 850 m away. Perfectly suited for hiking holidays, retreat from everyday life, seminars, group trips, and family celebrations.
Sun terrace, relaxing in the courtyard, sunbathing area, Finnish sauna, lounges, seminar rooms, TV room, library, and a Vienna concert grand piano invite individual relaxation or cultured leisure activities. The interior is simple, thoughtfully selected, and artistically arranged.

Hikers, cyclists, and train travelers can reach Schöna Castle just as they have for years. Travelers arriving by car are requested to park their vehicles above or below the castle and walk the remaining distance. We are happy to assist our guests with luggage and shuttle services.
Arrival by Car:
Central location between Dresden and Prague (50 min. from Dresden and 1.5 hours from Prague) via the A17, exit Pirna or Decin (if arriving from the direction of Prague), then continue on B172 to Bad Schandau. Just before Bad Schandau, go through Krippen to Reinhardtsdorf, Schöna, and Kleingießhübel.
Arrival by Train:
From Dresden take the S-Bahn to Pirna, then to Bad Schandau or Krippen. From Berlin Central Station, there is a direct connection to Bad Schandau. From Bad Schandau station and Krippen station, you have a direct bus connection to Reinhardtsdorf, Schöna, and Kleingießhübel.
