The cycling route offers fantastic views on the plateau as well as fascinating impressions along the romantic Kirnitzsch valley and links the most important cultural and tourist highlights of the region with unique natural experiences.
The route can be started at any desired point, but offers some long climbs in both directions. Detours to visit the cultural and tourist highlights are to be seen here as an addition.

Sebnitz - Hertigswalde - Saupsdorf - old Saupsdorf road - Hinterhermsdorf - Kirnitzsch valley up to Lichtenhainer Waterfall - Lichtenhain - Sebnitz
You leave the silk flower city of Sebnitz in the direction of Hertigswalde with a steady climb up to the forest house. From there, it goes downhill - and then straight back uphill over the sports field into Saupsdorf. You do not follow the signposted road but keep straight on to Hinterhermsdorf. Upon arrival, a relaxed descent into the romantically wild and cool Kirnitzsch valley follows. Along the river of the same name, you ride gently downhill until you reach the well-known Lichtenhainer Waterfall. From now on, it goes steeply uphill into the center of Lichtenhain before you return to Sebnitz via the former trade route "Panoramaweg."

The route includes some steep climbs; inexperienced cyclists should prefer using an e-bike. The route often runs along main roads without bike lanes.

You can find relaxation at numerous inns on your hiking route. Wachbergbaude, Kräuterbaude, Wanderstübel, Gasthof zur Hoffnung, Lichtenhainer Wasserfall, and Hotel Berghof Lichtenhain are recommended stops.
