Augustusberg view
The Augustusberg is located to the east of Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel and, at 507 m high, is one of the most prominent elevations in the area. Its sandstone summit is freely accessible.
Geologically, the mountain consists of gneiss with overlying syenite granite.
The view extends far over the Gottleuba Valley, into the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and as far as the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains.
On a clear day, Bohemian cone mountains can also be seen.
Several hiking trails lead to the summit. The viewpoint is freely accessible and is ideal for a circular hike. The view can be enjoyed all year round.
