507 m high vantage point near Berggießhübel - the Augustusberg offers a wide view of the Elbe Valley, the Ore Mountains and, on a clear day, as far as Bohemia.

The Augustusberg is located to the east of Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel and, at 507 m high, is one of the most prominent elevations in the area. Its sandstone summit is freely accessible.
Geologically, the mountain consists of gneiss with overlying syenite granite.
The view extends far across the Gottleuba Valley, into the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and as far as the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains.

On a clear day, the Bohemian Cone Mountains are also visible.
Several hiking trails lead to the summit. The viewpoint is freely accessible and is ideal for a circular hike. The view can be enjoyed all year round.
