Maps & Hiking Guides

The Malerweg is excellently signposted along its entire length. Nevertheless, a hiking guide as well as some audio and reading material about the hiking trail are highly recommended. And those who join a guided themed hike will also learn about the many small and large secrets on both sides of the trail. Further down, you will find all Malerweg stages available for download.

Malerweg in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains

All eight stages of the Painter’s Path in brief portraits and a variety of service information — elevation profiles, attractions, inns, accommodations, and interesting facts — are presented in the free brochure. Useful tips on art along the Painter’s Path and worthwhile detours are provided. The brochure also includes the Painter's Path stamp card.

Guided Hikes

Those who hike through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains under expert guidance gain deep insights into the connections between nature and the history of the national park region. Both the national park rangers and the certified national park guides cover an enormous range of topics: ant tours, herb and bird call walks, and much more. Some hikes lead to the most remote corners of the region. Some tours also follow the Painter's Path.
