Viewpoint near Stadt Wehlen with a wide view of the Elbe valley, the Bastei and the landscape of Saxon Switzerland.

The Wilkeaussicht is located above Stadt Wehlen on the edge of a former quarry area.

Access is via various hiking trails, including paths through the forest and via old quarry entrances.

There are relics of historic sandstone quarrying along the paths. Elbe sandstone was quarried in the area around Stadt Wehlen for centuries and was used for regional and national construction. The proximity to the Elbe made it possible to transport the material directly by ship, which facilitated the development of the quarry.
