From Stadt Wehlen to the Wilkeaussicht and into the Teufelsgrund

From Stadt Wehlen, walk a little way down the Elbe cycle path until a signpost directs you to the right to the Wilkeaussicht. The ascent is easy to manage. A small bridge leads over the Wilkebach stream. From the Wilkeaussicht you have a wonderful view down to the Elbe and the small town of Wehlstädtel. The route continues along the pond path to Dorf Wehlen without much elevation gain. You can then follow the signs to the "Kleine Sächische Schweiz" miniature park. A detour is worthwhile in any case. The next section leads along Pirnaer Straße to the junction with Basteistraße, which you follow to Buschholzstraße. From there, the route descends into Teufelsgrund between narrow, mossy rocks and finally reaches Wehlgrund, which you follow back to Stadt Wehlen.

Sturdy shoes are helpful.
