Table mountain Kleiner Bärenstein

Short facts

  • Struppen
  • Viewpoint/viewing tower

The Kleiner Bärenstein is a table mountain between Thürmsdorf and Oberrathen.

The ascent initially leads along narrow paths through mixed forest over steps and past rock faces to reach the summit plateau. Once at the top, hikers can expect a view of the table mountains and the Elbe Valley.

In the summit area, you can see the remains of a former restaurant that was abandoned after the Second World War.

The rock shows clear signs of weathering. Mosses and lichens grow between crevices and fissures, as well as pine trees and heather in sunny places. The entire Table Mountain is a nature reserve.
