A town full of historical monuments, surrounded by beautiful nature with panoramic cliffs and wooded hills.
Near the town hall is the historic building of the former "Adler" inn (no. 253), known for its striking roof construction. A visit to the tourist information office (no. 73) is a must in order to obtain a map of the city, on which the most important monuments are marked.
The Gothic-Renaissance St. James' Church is another sight that should not be missed. The 46-metre-high church tower offers a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding area. The famous composer Antonín Dvořák played the organ here more than 200 years ago.
Another highlight is the pilgrimage chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, a masterpiece of high baroque by architect Octavio Broggio. Its dome and picturesque porticoes make it a beautiful photo motif. At the main altar is the statue of the Virgin Mary, which is the subject of numerous miracle stories.
For nature lovers, a trip to the basalt rock "Jehla" (Nolde), which is only 2 km from the market square, is a must. The path leads through an impressive rocky landscape, past columnar basalt formations and the "dwarf basin" hollow. The viewpoint on the rock offers a breathtaking view of the town and the surrounding mountain panorama.
Not far away are the romantic ruins of Kamenický hrad Castle, which rises on a hill above the town. The lookout tower on the castle hill offers another spectacular view of the Lusatian Mountains and Bohemian Switzerland.
