Directions

The hike begins at the Gohrisch parking lot bus stop. From here, the path leads through the Stiller Grund, past the former nursery, up to Gohrisch. The ascent is already lined with the striking sandstone walls of the table mountain.

At the top, you pass the Abgetrennte Wand climbing peak and reach the extensive rock plateau. In a westerly direction, narrow rocky lanes lead to the view with the weather vane. From here, an impressive panorama opens up over the Elbe valley, the Ebenheit, the Papststein and as far as the Zschirnsteine.

Return along the same path to the pavilion on the eastern side of the plateau. From there, the descent is on the east side of the Gohrisch. The path leads south past a former basalt quarry, where a nature trail provides information about the geology, flora and fauna. Basalt was quarried here from the middle of the 19th century and was used as road building material, among other things.

The path joins the Muselweg. At first it runs through forest, then through open terrain with beautiful resting places and unobstructed views of the landscape. You reach Gohrisch via the Muselweg, follow Pladerbergstraße and reach the Pfaffendorfer Straße bus stop, where the tour ends.

In the town itself, it is worth taking a quick look at the details: a plaque at the Logis Hotel Quartier 5 commemorates Adelbert Hauffe, the founder of the Gohrisch summer resort in the 19th century. Several restaurants in Gohrisch also offer refreshments.
