Directions

Bad Schandau - Täppichtsteig - Hans-Förster-Weg - Balzweg - Heidepromenade - Heideweg - Potatschketal - Königstein

The Three Stones Route leads from Bad Schandau via Kleinhennersdorf to Königstein and runs along three table mountains: Kleinhennersdorfer Stein, Papststein and Gohrisch. The hike is classified as difficult due to the many steps and stairs that have to be mastered when crossing Gohrisch and Papststein (variant 2). Especially in winter, the metal steps or snow-covered rock steps can be very slippery. Ice toboggans can be hired at the Aktiv Zentrum in Bad Schandau.

The first section leads from Bad Schandau up the Täppichtsteig and then across wide open spaces and meadows to the Kleinhennersdorfer Stein. Once you reach Kleinhennersdorf, the striking Schrammsteine tower above you. This view of the Schrammstein is phenomenal! From a distance, the mighty rocks look even more impressive. Directly below the Kleinhennersdorf stone is a game reserve. The young animals are curious and not shy. However, they should not be fed.

The ascent to the Papststein, the second table mountain on this tour, then begins. The first few meters are a steep ascent through the forest. Then a wonderful high-level trail begins with a fantastic view of Papstdorf and the surrounding area. The rustic Papststein mountain restaurant is located at the summit - it's well worth a stop! After descending from the Papststein, the trail leads directly opposite back up to Gohrisch. The path leads through narrow crevices up to the summit. After half an hour, you reach the striking pavilion and can enjoy your first great view. From here, you should definitely walk to the other end of Gohrisch to the weather vane. It's not just the walk there that is worthwhile. The view is breathtaking - the Pfaffenstein, Königstein Fortress and the Lilienstein lie at your feet! At the end of the tour, you now head towards Pfaffenstein, the path always leads downhill to Königstein.

The S-Bahn then takes you quickly and comfortably back to Bad Schandau, the starting point of the tour.
