- Destination: Tourist information of the spa town Gohrisch
The beautiful spa town Gohrisch is a popular holiday destination in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains south of the Elbe and an ideal starting point for this not too difficult circular hike. The hiking trail is mostly well passable, and there is basically only one more challenging descent each as well as a short climb immediately after. The path to the Liliensteinblick viewpoint is partially interspersed with roots, but the short detour at the beginning of the route is definitely worth it. Additionally, very close by is also the Lapidarium and Arboretum, which is located in a fenced area for protection from wildlife browsing and accessible via two self-closing gates. The picnic spot at Hörnelteich is well suited for an extended rest. By the way, this can also be easily reached on a short path from Gohrisch (this route in reverse), which is why the excursion there is especially recommended for e-wheelchair users.

Directions
From the tourist information in the center of Gohrisch, we first follow the signs to the campsite. There the road ends and we hike slightly downhill initially to the signposted viewpoint "Liliensteinblick" (see picture). Close by the grounds of the arboretum, we return to the further descending main path and follow it. At the junction ahead of us, we turn left into the forest. When the path soon forks, it is best to take the right arm, even if there is a short, steep section upwards to overcome. Past a rest area (unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users), but with a view of Königstein Fortress (see picture), it then continues easily on the wide forest path, soon also through light forest. The section along the edge of the field is more difficult to navigate due to the terrain (see picture). At the easternmost point of the hike, the main difficulties end, as here we turn right onto a service road covered with loose gravel. This leads to Hörnelteich, from where we finally hike back to the starting point first on a concrete slab road, then in the village on asphalt.

Safety guidelines
Attention: On the second half of the route section parallel to the Elbe, the hiking trail is partly heavily eroded, so only a narrow lane can be used (see picture in the gallery). Also, fallen trees may lie across the path in the forested area just before, which may require a detour or even turning back (condition during the author's inspection).
