Directions
From the disabled parking lot on Bastei street, we walk first on the paved road to the Bastei hotel. The path to the viewpoint then leads slightly downhill on good ground to the left of the panorama restaurant. Along the way, you pass directly by the wheelchair toilet (accessible with Eurokey). Shortly before the viewpoint, we keep to the left along the railing to reach it without steps. Access to the Bastei bridge, the rock castle, and the viewpoint at Ferdinandstein is not possible by wheelchair due to many steps and long stairs.
The route is also possible from the large Bastei parking lot at the junction of Bastei street, from the country road between Lohmen and Rathewalde (at the "Bastei" caravan site). A separate bike path parallel to the road begins immediately at the parking lot and ends only at the large parking lots in front of the Bastei. This extends the distance for the round trip by 2.6 km each way.
