Our route begins at the S-Bahn station in Bad Schandau. On the first section, we cycle downstream on the Elbe Cycle Route to Königstein. At the roundabout in Königstein, we head towards Pfaffendorf and cycle a few meters along the Biela, which flows into the Elbe in Königstein. After about 100 m, we keep left and follow the road, which now leads steeply uphill. Soon we reach Pfaffendorfer Straße, which we continue to follow uphill. After about 100 m, a hiking trail branches off to the right towards the table mountain Quirl. We follow the path along the edge of the forest, which leads us almost up to the plateau of Quirl, steeply uphill. Then it goes gently downhill for a while. Soon we reach Kirchleitenweg, where we turn left. We follow it through the forest until we meet the state road towards Cunnersdorf. There we turn right, pass a forest parking lot on our left, and shortly afterward reach the Ladeweg bridge on the left, which we cross. From here, we follow the hiking trail with the white-green-white sign and have to pedal hard again.
We cycle along Ladeweg, which after about 1 km becomes Lampertstraße. Shortly afterward, we reach the first of the three ponds, the Neuteich. We continue to follow Lampertstraße and the white-green-white sign and soon pass an idyllic rest area where we can take a break. A little later, our path meets Lange Straße, which we follow to the left. At the next fork, we keep right and continue to the forest edge. There, we come to Brandweg, where we turn left. Shortly after, we reach an intersection with a covered hut where we can rest briefly.
We then continue straight ahead on Sommerhübelweg until about 1 km later we turn left onto Kuhgassenweg, which becomes Alte Tetschner Straße. We are now back on the hiking trail with the white-green-white sign. We follow Alte Tetschner Straße eastward and can now coast a little after the long climb. Finally, we come to a T-junction where we turn right and immediately see the Fuchsteich on our left. Right behind it is the border to the Czech Republic. After a short detour to the idyllic Fuchsteich, we turn back and cycle to Alte Flößerbrücke, where we turn right. We follow this path northward until we reach Mittleren Hühnerbergweg. Here we turn right. Shortly after, we cross the Taubenbach over a bridge and then turn right again.
Soon after, we see the Taubenteich on our right. This is a good place for a short rest, as the route then goes uphill again for a short stretch. We continue on our path now following the white-yellow-white sign. Soon we are in the valley of the Krippenbach, and can now comfortably coast downstream following its course. Finally, we reach state road 169, where we turn right. We pass Forstmühle and Rölligmühle (6) and reach the outskirts of Krippen after about 4 km. We cycle through Krippen with its numerous picturesque half-timbered houses to the Elbe. From here, we ride a short section of the Elbe Cycle Route again to return to the starting point in Bad Schandau.
