Since 2012, handmade candies based on traditional recipes have been produced in the town of Wehlen. The Meister Karamellus candy factory offers a wide variety of flavors, such as fruit, caramel, and herbs.
Visitors can watch the candy-making process during daily demonstrations. These demonstrations show how hot sugar is pulled, shaped, and cut to create small candies. The demonstration takes place several times a day and is open to visitors of all ages.
In the adjoining shop, the candies are available in jars or bags. Custom orders are also possible, for example, with a company logo or as gifts for special occasions.
The factory is located right on the market square and is a popular destination for families, school groups, and tour groups. Its location in the historic old town makes it easily accessible—on foot, by bike, or by train.
