Starting from the parking lot / bus stop (Cunnersdorf Landweg), walk to the Bockmühle, which warmly offers refreshments and delicious food before or after the hike. Crossing the bridge, you will see on your left the path that runs along the Polenz. You follow the course of the stream sometimes over a bridge, across meadows, or above them. In spring, many snowdrops bloom here. During this period, the valley transforms into a special visitor highlight. At all other times of the year, it is rather quiet and dreamy here. You continue to follow the path. Do not take the snowdrop path that branches off to the left, but continue straight uphill. At the next crossroads, a path leads steeply upwards. A sign for Wendischauer Weg points you in the right direction.
After conquering the elevation on the forest path, a panorama over fields and meadows opens up more and more. You continue and follow the Wendischauer circular route. You pass a small pond biotope and a private mini bathing lake. Then you soon enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. Here time seems to have stood still. It is not difficult, with the view of Stolpen Castle, to imagine how farmers cultivated their fields up here hundreds of years ago. Soon you reach the village of Cunnersdorf. You turn left onto the paved, car-free street and follow it. A detour to Hofladen Steinert is worthwhile here. You can observe how happily the cows live on the surrounding pastures, whose milk is used to make tasty cheese. You hike back on the path into the forest and down into the Polenz valley or to your parking lot or bus stop.
Note for public transport arrival: The bus stop is located in Cunnersdorf. So you start already on the paved, car-free street in Cunnersdorf and walk towards the Bockmühle.
