The comfortable hiking route starts at the parking lot or the bus stop Dorfplatz in Leupoldishain, a district of Königstein. Go a bit into the village and turn left at the playground, following the yellow stripe trail markers. The route leads over the gently ascending Schillersteig.
Those eager for rocks can make a detour to the Kleine Labyrinth here. The yellow stripe marker leads comfortably through the forest to a road. On the opposite side, continue on, after a few minutes leave the marked path, and follow the signpost to Napoleonstein.
From this rock ledge, you have a good distant view of the Ore Mountains on clear days. Napoleon supposedly commanded the advance of his troops towards Bohemia from this stone on September 15, 1813. If you look carefully, you can find not only Napoleon but also a golden ball! According to legend, emperors and kings may only be shot with a silver or golden ball. If you find the ball, you should also gently touch it because it is said to bring luck—after all, Napoleon spared it. Continue comfortably along the rock edge. After crossing the road, keep right and follow the signs from the parking lot to the labyrinth. Those who wish can squeeze through narrow crevices, caves, and holes here—especially children accomplish this with joy. The further route goes through the rocky backdrop of various well-known film productions (e.g. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Cloud Atlas, The Cold Heart, etc.).
Soon you reach a panoramic viewpoint and from there walk to the Walderlebniszentrum Nikolsdorf. Barefoot snail trail, low rope course, swings, tactile boxes, and much more can be tried here. The place is also suitable for a snack break. The route continues with a small climb to the Stelzchen. A lookout rock with a view of the village of Nikolsdorf.*
The route then runs along fields on the Lantzschweg. Wonderful panoramic views of the wide landscape and the Königstein fortress can be enjoyed here without effort or elevation gain. Downhill over the Hirschstange, and after crossing the road uphill again. Steps lead up to the last viewpoint of the round—the Spanghorn. From here, follow the blue dot over the Kiefernleite back into the village of Leupoldishain to the starting point.
*Shortcut from here via the yellow stripe back to the parking lot/bus stop is possible.
