Directions
Away from the tourist crowds, an varied and surprisingly scenic route awaits you. The hike is especially worthwhile for families. In summer, a dive into the cool water at the Naturbad Goßdorf provides refreshment. A large, modern playground on the grounds of the natural swimming pool rounds off the stay at the bath.
The route starts directly at Naturbad Goßdorf and from here you head straight to Gickelsberg. At 414 m, this is the highest elevation on the circular hike and, in good weather, offers a splendid panoramic view which you can enjoy at the seating area with a small hiking picnic. The ascent is quite steep and you need some stamina. Then continue along narrow paths through the forest (Attention: GPX should be used here, as the path is partly not very visible) to the Briefträgersteig. Here too, your eyes wander into the distance, as the views along the way are wonderful. Eventually you reach Hankehübel. There too, a special panorama awaits you, including views of the Lilienstein and the Schrammsteine. Then continue through Goßdorf along an information trail created by the local heritage association to the squirrel. In general, it is noticeable that the people of Goßdorf invest a lot of love, effort and time to create an entertaining offer for hikers. At the former quarry, you can shorten the hike if needed and walk directly to the "Goßdorfer Perle" (around 4.5 km total distance). Otherwise, continue along the geo-trail along the Kohllichtgraben (yellow stripe) - which is also part of the Malerweg - until you see a large globe on a hilltop, the so-called "Goßdorfer Perle". A globe painted with motives from Saxon Switzerland can be set in motion with a lot of strength. On the way back to the Naturbad, you walk past historic agricultural machines, witnesses of a past era when the village was still shaped by agriculture.
