Directions

From the parking lot (or from the bus stop "Thürmsdorf Gasthaus") below Thürmsdorf Castle, we soon reach a wide gravel hiking trail after a short climb, which initially goes slightly uphill, later relatively flat, to the Biedermann Mausoleum. From here, there is already a beautiful view towards the town of Königstein on the Elbe and the fortress towering above it. A short detour to the Johann-Thielemann viewpoint about 50 m further northeast is still worthwhile because the path there is well developed. Walkers can now hike back again on the same path. However, the route itself leads from the junction about 100 m before the viewpoints first on a field path suitable for wheelchairs, then on an old slab path to the road between Thürmsdorf and Weißig. We must follow this about 900 m to the left before a wide hiking trail leads us into the romantic castle park with castle pond. (Using the shortcut to the castle pond about 200 m before the junction is not recommended with a wheelchair.) Through this, we walk easily back to Thürmsdorf Castle. Shortly before arrival, a short detour to the castle garden, where the statue "Adoratio – Adoration" is located, is highly recommended.
