Rammenau Baroque Palace

Short facts

Magnificently preserved manor house with unique interior design between late baroque and classicism - surrounded by a stylish landscaped park.

Ernst Ferdinand von Knoch recognized the beauty of this landscape 300 years ago. The special charm of this former summer residence lies in the harmonious combination of baroque architecture and classicist decoration.

The only fully preserved manor house in Saxony is located at the foothills of the Lusatian Highlands, near Bautzen. From the outside, it is a fairytale castle of modern times. Inside, the Chinese Room, Pompeian Room, Bird Room and Peacock Room impress with their late Baroque and early Classicist interior design. In the 18th century, the von Hoffmann family bought the baroque Rammenau Palace at auction. Their son Johann Centurius Count von Hoffmann designed the idyllic landscape park.

After all the interesting impressions in the castle, a subsequent walk through the park will bring you peace, relaxation and recreation.

Please check the castle's website for the opening times of the museum and castle café.
