Langburkersdorf Castle & Culture Barn
Langburkersdorf Castle was built on the site of a former moated castle. The surrounding moat is dry today, but the shape of the grounds still reveals the original layout. A stone bridge with sandstone pillars leads to the terrace at the main building.
The history of the castle is characterized by various uses. A new residential building was erected from 1611. In 1870, Baron von Stieglitz acquired the estate and used it as a hunting residence. It later served as a convalescent home and TB sanatorium.
In 2000, the then municipality of Hohwald bought the castle with its park, farm buildings and barn. The former farm barn was converted into a cultural barn. The fieldstone façade was preserved and a modern event space was created inside.
The culture barn offers 500 square meters of space. It is used for concerts, markets, celebrations and club events. Seating for around 350 people. Facilities: stage, bar, ceiling heating, lighting and sanitary facilities.
The castle itself is accessible as part of events.
