Oelsener-Höhe view

Viewpoint/viewing tower
Viewpoint at 644 m with sweeping views of the Elbe Valley, across the Ore Mountains and as far as Bohemian Switzerland - easily accessible and in a quiet location.

The Oelsener Höhe is located to the south of the Oelsen district and, at 644 meters, is one of the highest points in the southern outskirts of Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel. A flat, man-made platform offers an unobstructed panoramic view.

When visibility is good, the view extends across the Elbe Valley and Saxon Switzerland to the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains and the cone-shaped mountains of Bohemian Switzerland. An overview board on site helps with orientation.

The viewpoint is easily accessible on foot and is also suitable for shorter tours. There are several hiking trails with natural routes in the surrounding area.
The quiet location away from major routes makes the Oelsener Höhe a worthwhile destination for excursions into nature - also as a resting place with a wide view.
