Viewpoint at the Kirnitzschtal
In the eastern part of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Großstein rises above the Kirnitzschtal valley as a sandstone rock.

The access is via narrow, natural paths. The trail runs through dense mixed forest and over stony sections in places.

The exposed rocky head offers an unobstructed view of the richly structured terrain between Hinterer Raubschloss, Großer Winterberg and the Zschand area. The view encompasses wooded ridges, rock faces and lower lying valleys.

As part of the protected national park area, the site is an example of the combination of a sensitive natural zone and controlled accessibility.

Openings

The Großstein is in principle always open.
