Exhibition Sculpture Summer Pirna

The Pirna Sculpture Summer shows  sculptures and installations in the historic bastions of Sonnenstein Fortress. The combination of modern art and historic fortifications makes the exhibition a special cultural experience.

The show is curated anew each year and each time has its own theme. Works made of stone, metal and other materials address current social and artistic issues. An accompanying program with guided tours, workshops and activities complements the exhibition experience.

The bastions offer an extraordinary setting: The thick walls and open courtyards of the fortress create an exciting contrast between the works and contemporary art.
