The ascent along a natural hiking trail through the Schindergraben, past the picturesque ruins of a former bear pit to Hohnstein, is a little adventure in itself. The trail to the mysterious Gautschgrotte, where a huge ice column forms during prolonged periods of frost, also leads through the Schindergraben.
