The Rauensteinbaude, just a few steps from Stage 8 of the Malerweg, began its history as a simple milk bar. As a family-run inn, it has been a popular destination ever since. Getting there by S-Bahn:
A hike to the Rauenstein rock is possible in about 60 minutes from the “Stadt Wehlen” S-Bahn station and in about 45 minutes from the “Kurort Rathen” S-Bahn station. The Rauenstein is signposted at both stations.
Getting there by car:
Drive to the Weißig hiking parking lot above Kurort Rathen. The hiking trail to the Rauenstein is signposted from there and takes about 20 minutes.
