On this centrally located meadow below the rugged rock massif of the Schrammsteine, the national park was opened in 1991. At the economic huts on the edge of the wild meadow, there is a fire pit.

The route leads on a wide, well-drivable forest road (partly mineral surface, partly asphalt) from the Kirnitzschtal to one of the most beautiful spots in the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz. Initially moderately ascending, there are gradients of up to 10% to be managed before the peak of the route, so assistance from accompanying persons is recommended.

Directions

After the bridge over the Kirnitzsch at the mouth of the Nasser Grund, we follow the well-developed track through the valley, continuously ascending. Passing the junctions of Eulentilke and Reitsteig/Jordanweg, we keep going straight ahead. From the second junction onward, the path becomes steeper. Until we reach the wild meadow, gradients of up to about 10% must be overcome here. We use the same path back.

Alternatively, we can also hike via the Wenzelweg into the Zahnsgrund and further (on the road) to Postelwitz. This option is described in the wheelchair tour "Around the Hohe Liebe".

Directions & Parking facilities

From Pirna, drive via the B172 through Königstein towards Bad Schandau. Upon arriving in Bad Schandau, cross the Elbe and turn left at the first street behind the marketplace towards Hinterhermsdorf. Through the Kirnitzschtal to the parking lot Nasser Grund.
