Directions

The tour starts right at Tchaikovsky Square in Graupa. If you have time, you should definitely plan to visit the Richard Wagner sites either at the very beginning or at the end of the tour. The interactive exhibition is dedicated to the musician’s life and work. The Richard Wagner Cultural Trail runs through the park. From there, the route continues along Badstraße, past the old Borsberg Baths, which today serve as a biotope. Then turn right. The trail continues for a short distance along the Graupaer Bach. There you’ll find a “green classroom.” Continue along the Großgraupaer Kirchsteig to the Altes Wasserhäus’l, where you’ll find a lovely picnic spot with a view. The route then continues along the Leitenweg. Here you’ll find many informative signs with explanations, for example, on dry stone walls, dry valleys, and pine mistletoe. Finally, the trail descends from the Rysselkuppe along the “Saxon Wine Route” on a road with very little traffic to the village square in Graupa before returning to the tour’s starting point, Tschaikowskiplatz.
