Directions

A particularly idyllic hiking path around the former mining town of Berggießhübel is the Forellensteig. As a leisurely trail, it leads between Ladenberg (338 meters) and Schlepphübel (314 meters) always along the murmuring and babbling Gottleuba. Between moss-covered boulders, the stream winds through the valley and sometimes cascades as a small waterfall over the mighty sandstone blocks. Trees rise densely on both sides up to the water. Fascinating are the whirlpools that the stream has washed into the rock over centuries. The starting point of the circular route is the parking lot at the Marie-Louise-Stolln mine. Follow the yellow stripe along the Forellensteig to the Zwiesel bridge. There you cross the street and walk only a few hundred meters before turning left and crossing the street a second time. Next to the railway bridge, it goes over the former railway line back to the starting point.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Pack your swimwear in summer, as a visit to the outdoor pool can be easily combined. The visitor mine at the start and end point of the route is also worth a visit all year round.
