Viewpoint between the spa town of Rathen and Polenztal - a place of inspiration for Caspar David Friedrich
In his painting "The Hiker above the Sea of Fog", the mountain peak Gamrig can be seen to the left of the hiker. In order to have this view of the Gamrig, as in Friedrich's drawing in May 1808, only the viewpoint on Ziegenrückenstraße is suitable.
It is difficult to reach by public transport and on foot. However, there are parking facilities at the viewpoint.
