Exhibition on traditional hand puppetry in the tourist information center in Hohnstein with original figures, workshop and historical stage sets.
The collection  documents an important puppetry tradition of the 20th century that has gained nationwide recognition. Original puppet heads, historical stage sets and props as well as insights into the working methods and pedagogical orientation of earlier performances are presented.

Typical features of puppetry aesthetics such as reduced backdrops, accordion music and distinctive character language are illustrated by means of exhibits. An adjoining workshop demonstrates the handcrafted production of puppet figures.

The location is centrally located in Hohnstein opposite the town hall. Access is possible during fixed opening hours or by appointment via the tourist information office.
