Tannenberg observation tower (Jedlová, Czech Republic)

Short facts

Historic observation tower with sweeping panoramic views of the mountains of northern Bohemia and the Lusatian Mountains.

At 774 meters, Tannenberg (Jedlová hora) is one of the highest peaks in the Lusatian Mountains. There is a historic lookout tower from 1891 and a mountain hut on its summit.

After climbing 123 steps, the tower opens up a wide view of the Lusatian Mountains, the Jeschken, the Ore Mountains and the surrounding mountain ranges. The mountain marks the main European watershed.

At the foot of the tower is a catered mountain hut with regional cuisine and overnight accommodation. Several marked hiking trails lead to the summit from the surrounding area, including from Jedlová railroad station or from the village of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou.
