Saxon Steam Navigation - ANLEGER Pirna

Boat tours
Located in the old town of Pirna, this jetty is the perfect starting point for a boat trip on the Elbe to Dresden and Saxon Switzerland.
The pier in Pirna is part of the Saxon Steamship Company, the oldest paddle steamer fleet in the world. The fleet consists of nine historic ships and connects Dresden with Saxon Switzerland.

From Pirna, the ships travel down the Elbe towards Bad Schandau or up the Elbe towards Dresden. The route leads past vineyards, castles and sandstone cliffs.

On board, guests can expect gastronomy and modern service on historic technology.

The pier is within walking distance of Pirna's old town. It is worth strolling through the alleyways before or after arrival  or visiting the town museum.

Pirna

Pirna, 20 kilometers from Dresden, is the gateway to Saxon Switzerland. In the center of Pirna, it is worth taking a tour of the venerable town. You will reach the town hall. It is located in the middle of the market square and combines stylistic elements from five centuries.

Behind the houses on the east side of the market square, you will find the mighty St. Mary's Church, which was built in the first half of the 16th century to replace an older church. You can still see the steep roof from afar while cruising on the Elbe. The Dominican monastery now houses the town museum.
