A sandstone cliff with a view over forests and rocks - Napoleon is said to have stood here in 1813.
The Napoleonstein is located above Langenhennersdorf on the sandstone cliffs of the Langenhennersdorfer Wände. At an altitude of 413 meters, it offers a wide view of the landscape of the Eastern Ore Mountains and the forests around the Breite Heide.
The place is named after a legend from the Wars of Liberation. Napoleon is said to have observed his troop movements from here in 1813. Legend has it that a cannonball narrowly missed him and its impact point is still marked to this day.
The viewpoint is easily accessible via forest paths. Information boards and a bench invite you to take a break. Access is possible all year round and is free of charge.
