Johanniswacht view

The Johanniswacht rises in the upper part of the Biela valley near Rosenthal-Bielatal and offers an impressive view of the gorge-like landscape thanks to its exposed location. The viewpoint forms a striking sandstone platform that stands out clearly from the surrounding rock faces.

The access is via forest paths and leads over steep sections in places. Surefootedness is required on the last section. In winter conditions, the access can be slippery and slippery. They provide additional grip as they function as anti-slip shoe covers with spikes or chains. They are available from the Aktivzentrum in Bad Schandau and other outdoor stores.
