Johanniswacht view
The Johanniswacht rises in the upper part of the Biela valley near Rosenthal-Bielatal and offers an impressive view of the gorge-like landscape thanks to its exposed location. The viewpoint forms a striking sandstone platform that stands out clearly from the surrounding rock faces.
The access is via forest paths and leads over steep sections in places. Sure-footedness is required on the last section; if you climb the path, you will reach the viewpoint with a view of the valley and the rock towers opposite.
From the rock, the view sweeps over to the sandstone formations opposite - including striking needles and spikes.
