Bio-Restaurant StrandGut (Schmilka)
Let yourself be enchanted by an atmosphere that blends the exclusivity of a rowing club with the charm of a beach house.
Surrounded by stylish elements inspired by the local Elbe riverboat tradition and the impressive panoramic view from the sun terrace of Germany’s last unspoiled river landscape in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, enjoy seasonal àà la carte dishes or high-quality Saxon culinary classics as well as creative vegetarian and vegan dishes. Here, special emphasis is placed on the selection of ingredients, which are sourced from certified organic and locally preferred farms in the region.

Directions & Parking facilities
- The Elbe Bridge in Bad Schandau (B172) is completely closed for safety reasons. This also applies to pedestrians and cyclists!
Traveling by car:
The wide-area detour runs via the Elbe bridges in Pirna.
Traveling by train:
Local S-Bahn station: Schmilka-Hirschmühle. There are regular express train connections from Germany and even from Austria all the way to Bad Schandau (e.g., a direct connection from Berlin to Bad Schandau). From Bad Schandau, take the S-Bahn two stops to Schmilka, then cross over on the old “Lena,” the historic ferry from 1927, and you’re there!
