The 6 best means of transport

© Andreas Balko

Everybody knows buses and trains but we also have ferries, steam boats, an elevator and a tram in the National Park.

Saxon Switzerland is a public transport dream land. You will find that you can easily leave your on the car park of your lodge. That is not only good for the environment, but for your wallet, too. Did you know that parking fees increase the further you drive into the National Park? Kirnitzschtal Valley is infamous for its precarious car parking situation. Searching for scarce parking spaces can be rather frustrating and dampen your anticipation of a delightful hiking adventure.

By the way: visitors staying in Pirna, Königstein and Sebnitz municipalities can use public transport free of charge with their mobility card “Gästekarte mobil"
