The guided tour of the brewery in Schmilka combines insights into the traditional art of milling, baking and brewing.

The event includes a presentation of the historic watermill, whose origins date back to the 17th century. On site, visitors will be shown how grain is processed between millstones using water power. There is also the opportunity to get to know the neighboring bakery.

Another component is a tour of the brewery. Basic beer production processes are explained, including the traditional method of open fermentation. Ingredients and production steps are also explained.

The tour provides an overview of artisanal production processes and the combination of mill, bakery and brewery in one location.

Schmilka is located in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The journey is usually via Bad Schandau.

By public transportation:
Take the S-Bahn S1 (Dresden - Schöna) to the Schmilka-Hirschmühle stop. Alternatively, travel to Bad Schandau station and from there take bus 252 in the direction of Schmilka.

By car:
Travel to Bad Schandau via the B172 to Schmilka. Public parking is available there.
