Directions

The hike starts at the Elbe quay and goes up Elbe street, crossing Dresdner street to Lindenallee. Go up Lindenallee a few meters, then turn into Rathmannsdorf Weg on the opposite side of the street. After a few bends, this becomes Pestalozzistraße, which leads directly to Rathmannsdorf. Along the way, you pass the 15-meter-high, barrier-free observation tower. Always following Pestalozzistraße, you pass Rathmannsdorf Height. The street turns into Pferdesteig and leads downhill into Lachsbachtal, where you meet the little village of Rathmannsdorf again. Follow Hohnsteiner street a few meters to the right, cross the street, and then shortly before the curve, ascend the Mühlsteigel on the left. This leads you to Porschdorf onto the street called "Niederdorf." Continue to the left past the Porschdorf inn, up the main street, and past the church. Above the church, on the other side of the street within a few meters, there are two paths. Our route uses the upper, unpaved path, the Ehrlichtweg. Following this, you reach Gründelweg and follow it downhill to the left. This takes you to Prossen on the Elbe and to the renovated Rittergut Prossen. The playground nearby is recommended as a picnic spot. Always walk upstream along the Elbe riverbank in the direction of Rathmannsdorf. The route can be ended there on the left side at the station. Those who wish can walk back to Bad Schandau on the right side.
