Directions
The start of this route is at the ferry terminal in the spa town of Rathen. From here, follow the road up into the spa town. At the Hotel Amselgrundschlösschen, turn left and follow the green line marking towards Amselgrund. After passing the ticket booth of the Felsenbühne Rathen on the left, you reach the Amselsee, where boat rides are available. From the promenade along the Amselsee, you will enjoy repeated beautiful views of such distinctive climbing peaks of the Rathen rock world like the "Lokomotive", "Talwächter", and "Mönch". You are now also on the path of the Malerweg Elbsandsteingebirge and continue following its marking further into the Amselgrund. Shortly after the turnoff to the Schwedenlöcher, the path becomes steeper leading up to the Amselfall. Due to rockfall, the area around the Amselfall hut is scaffolded. After this section, the path continues uphill to the Rathewalder Mill. Return via the same route.
