The city library was founded in 1868 by the local trade association. It is located in the city center and its media collection is aimed at all age groups.

The range includes fiction, non-fiction, children's and young adult literature, magazines and audio books. Digital use is also possible. Special non-fiction collections are available for schools and daycare centers.
