Thorsten Kutschke, a television journalist and filmmaker from Dresden, has not only been traveling the world’s mountains for three decades for the MDR program BIWAK, but is also a passionate photographer and storyteller. Among the places that fascinate and entice him most—besides his home mountains, Saxon Switzerland—is, above all, Iceland: the rugged and weather-beaten island in the Arctic Ocean. In his lecture, this globetrotter takes his audience on a journey: from the Elbe Valley all the way to the Far North. To mighty waterfalls, rugged cliffs, hot springs, mystical volcanic landscapes, and the most beautiful celestial spectacle Mother Nature has to offer: the breathtaking Northern Lights in the sky above Iceland.
