THE CACTUS BLOSSOM: Lots of Opinions—Little Clue—SatireFest 2026

In the new show by the Dresden cabaret “Die Kaktusblüte,” Friedemann Heinrich and Uwe Hänchen, along with their pianist Janka Scheudeck, once again explore the spirit of the times—where high politics and everyday nonsense collide.

Everyone does what they want, no one does what they’re supposed to, but everyone goes along with it—that’s the motto these days, and an opinion is more important than knowledge.

Yet cabaret faces stiff competition, because politics keeps trying to outdo it. Nevertheless, cabaret and politics have a lot in common—after all, politics is one big theater. Some politicians come across as sad amateurs, while others are excellent actors. The trick for all of them, however, is to keep impressing the public with new productions.

And so this show is just like politics: a total free-for-all—so that the fun can begin, since politics certainly doesn’t provide any.
