Adolf Tannert's (1839-1913) works of art adorn the Sebnitz shadow plays, a special form of Christmas pyramid that only exists here.
The Sebnitz Tannert Christmas is dedicated to one of the most important silhouette artists of the 19th century and a unique folk art form worldwide. Adolf Tannert lived and worked in Sebnitz. His silhouettes have always been used to decorate the Sebnitz shadow plays, which can be purchased at the market. Similar to a Christmas pyramid, figures made of silhouettes turn in round, handmade towers made of wood and paper and show moving, illuminated scenes. The Advent market is decorated with an oversized shadow play of this kind.

The stage program offers a Christmas mix of regional artists and a wide variety of musical groups to make the trip to the small Christmas market on the Bohemian border even more entertaining, while the kids do their rounds on the mini chain plane. Of course, Ruprecht will also be making an appearance at times between the market stalls.
