About the Märchenfänger Puppet Theater (Leipzig):
The “Märchenfänger Puppet Theater” is the traveling theater program of puppeteer Christian Sengewald. He studied puppetry at the “Ernst Busch” Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and, in addition to his work on the theater stage, can also be seen on camera—among other roles, he plays Pittiplatsch in the new TV episodes. Together with a team comprising directors, dramaturgs, musicians, set designers, puppet designers, and costume designers, he creates imaginative productions of well-known fairy tales for children and families. The repertoire includes “Snow White,” “Hans in Luck,” and “The Brave Little Tailor.” As a traveling theater, the “Märchenfänger” brings its own stage, lighting, and sound equipment directly to kindergartens, elementary schools, cultural centers, family celebrations, and events.
