About Kati’s Kasperl Theater:
She learned the art of Kasperl puppetry from Markus Appel at the “Würzburger Kasperhaus.” After her “apprenticeship” there, she was so “infected with Kasperl fever” (she was actually a pediatric nurse at the time) that, after several internships—including at the “Augsburger Puppenkiste”— with Hohenstein-based Kasperl puppeteer Klaus Gräwe, at Hof Lebherz in Warmsen, and at the Figurentheaterkolleg in Bochum, she founded the traveling theater “Kati’s Kasperl Theater” in 2004. The stage, props, and puppets are all handmade, and she writes all the plays herself.
