The "Tetschen Altarpiece - The Cross in the Mountains" is probably the most famous and most valuable painting of German Romanticism. Its creator, Caspar David Friedrich, was a quiet man who spent weeks wandering through nature, sketching and then compiling his sketches into completely new compositions. However, his letters also bear witness to his fun-loving, humorous nature. He was a loner who put his family above everything else. Listen to and watch memories and inspirations from a life between Rügen and Saxon Switzerland. We prove it: Dresden is by the sea after all. An evening based on the production "A Piece of Heaven" by Johannes Gärtner with images and, above all, sounds of Romanticism: violin and cello or piano and flute enter into a dialog with tender, rough and touching lines, one of the greatest painters who was often so embarrassed in words.
