Puppet Theater for Adults
In the chamber in the tower, the Thirteenth Fairy sits spinning. Threads of fate, threads of fairy tales, flow through her fingers. The spinning wheel hums, and the fairy begins to tell a story. “Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen who said every day, ‘Oh, if only we had a child!’—and yet they never had one…” She tells the fairy tale of the royal couple who, in days of old, forgot love and brought great suffering upon the people. And of a princess who curiously climbed the steps to the forbidden tower, of a 100-year slumber, and of wonderful dreams. The fairy tells of a thorn hedge, of a brave prince, a long kiss, and of many roses that suddenly bloomed... for with Sleeping Beauty, love awoke in the land.
